was formed in 1912 and is an international association of people concerned with
poultry science and its application in the poultry industry. Its major role
is to encourage, and help facilitate, liaison among research scientists and
educators, and between those in research and education and those working in
the many diverse sectors of the industry. There are now over 6500 members in
55 countries, including USA, all the former Soviet states, most European countries,
Asia, Australasia, China, Japan, Israel and many countries of Africa and South
America. The aims of the association are to:

Promote the advancement of knowledge of all aspects of poultry production.

Disseminate this knowledge and to
facilitate its exchange throughout the world.
**
Promote World Poultry Congresses,
Regional Conferences, Symposia and Seminars.
**
Co-operate with other international
organizations in achieving these aims.

2008 the senior officers of the Association are:
The Association is
run by an elected Management Board, an Executive Committee and a Council of
members drawn from branches. The activities of the Association centre around
World Congresses, Regional Conferences, Symposia and the Association Journal
(the World's Poultry Science Journal) with a world-wide circulation of nearly
7000 copies.
